It is with deep regret and sadness that the Public Media Alliance advises of the death of Mrs. Odette Campbell, our Vice President and Managing Director of the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN), in the Caribbean.
Odette, 53, died on Monday evening while receiving treatment at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. PMA Board Member Gary Allen who has been in touch with her husband and children, has expressed sympathies on behalf of the PMA and offered the PMA family’s support at this very difficult time for them.
In a statement GBN said: “As the Managing Director of the Grenada Broadcasting Network, Odette made a significant impact not only in the media industry but also in the lives of everyone she encountered. Her unwavering dedication and passion for her work were truly admirable, and her genuine concern for the well-being of her colleagues and the community was evident in everything she did.”
“Odette was a passionate member of the PMA Board, with a clear vision in support of public interest media. I am privileged to have worked alongside her, and she will be sorely missed as both a colleague and a friend to all at PMA.” – Kristian Porter, PMA CEO.
“I had the privilege of knowing Odette as both a colleague and friend. She was an exceptional journalist and a very special human being. A person of great character and strength. Her loss will be felt by so many.” – Sally-Ann Wilson, former PMA CEO.
