The Public Media Alliance today announce the appointment of their new President, Vice Presidents and Board following the associations AGM and Global Conference in Montréal.

Paul Thompson, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Radio New Zealand has been elected as the President of PMA for a two year term with Gary Allen, Group Executive, RJR Jamaica and Ahmer Shaheen, Head of Special Investigations and Advisor, GEO News,  Pakistan as Vice President.

Also elected to the Board were: Stanley B. Similo, DG, NBC Namibia, Nanise Fifita, GM, TBC, Tonga, Jessie Y.W. Shih, Director International Department, PTS Taiwan, John Momoh, Chairman & CEO, Channels TV, Nigeria and President of BON-[the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria],  David Sutton, Head of Strategic Policy, ABC Australia, Anthony Pugh, MD, Manx Radio and Gerard Teuma, CEO GBC Gibraltar.

Fran Unsworth, Director BBC World Service Group remains as ‘ex officio’ member of the Board as the UK is the location for the BBC Secretariat.

As PMA continues to evolve, the management team look forward to working with the Board to advocate for public media globally.
