South Africa's President has finally appointed 12 individuals to the new board of the SABC, six months after the old board disbanded.

The South Africa National Editors’ Forum said there has been an increase in the number of attacks and threats to journalists in the country.

12 names have been recommended by the Communications ministry to serve on the incoming Board of South Africa’s public broadcaster.

After months of delay, eight board vacancies at the South African Broadcasting Corporation could finally be filled.
