Changing Perspectives – Engaging The Digital Public: Futureproofing PSM

We are pleased to announce our AGM and Global Conference, which will be held on 13th and 14th September 2016 in Montréal, Canada.

The event will take place immediately prior to the annual Public Broadcasters International [PBI] conference hosted by CBC/Radio Canada in the same venue on 15th and 16th September. The Public Media Alliance will also be convening a session, ‘Bringing the Public into Public Service Media: The risks and benefits of Millennial and GenZ contribution and participation’ as part of PBI.

These events provide a unique opportunity for media leaders from around the world to meet and debate the central issues regarding the continued evolution of public media.

In an age of information overload why do so many national media organisations around the world continue to define themselves as ‘Public Broadcasters’ or increasingly ‘Public Media’ organisations? From investigative journalism in the digital age to the role that public media plays in times of crisis, speakers and delegates will debate and reflect on the need to engage an increasingly digital public in order to futureproof public media.

The NEXT Future: Connecting the Digital Generation to Public Broadcasting.

PBI 2016

The 2016 edition of PBI will explore the theme of young audiences and their shift away from traditional media consumption. This conference will shed light on cutting-edge strategies to reach and retain Millennial and GenZ audiences.

PBI conferences are usually restricted to PBI members so this partnership offers PMA members a unique chance to attend a full three days of top level industry speakers and networking opportunities.

To register for both events head to our conference website.

We look forward to welcoming you in Montréal.
