What is PBI?

PBI is an annual conference bringing together public media executives to meet, network, and discuss. It was established in 1990 by NHK and TVO.

This year, PMA’s CEO, Kristian Porter, will moderate a session on journalist safety, featuring the Director General of Swedish Radio, Cilla Benkö, and the President and CEO of CBC/Radio-Canada, Catherine Tait. More details about the session will be announced soon.

“Accept our invitation to a discussion in which the world’s public service media leaders will open up questions that we have so little time for in the day-to-day practice of running our institutions. No matter how essential they are. Come and share your experience and reflections on the risks we are facing. Come and share the best practice of how our organizations will change and adapt in the fast-changing world.” – Petr Dvorak, General Director of Czech TV

Session topics include “The future of sports rights in the field of PSM”, “Long-term funding versus independence”, and “Where will the future be? Innovators creating a new public”.
