Join PMA in Kuala Lumpur for Radiodays Asia 2024

The Public Media Alliance is once again partnering with Radiodays Asia in Kuala Lumpur, and offering exclusive discounts for staff at PMA-member organisations.
What is Radiodays Asia?

Radiodays Asia is the international meeting point for the radio, audio and podcast industry in the Asia-Pacific. Its purpose is sharing experiences and learning about international media trends, new technology, content development and business opportunities.

The conference is a collaboration between Radiodays Europe, the world’s largest and leading conference for radio, audio and podcast, and broadcasting partners in Asia and Australia. The 2024 edition will kick off with a day of training and workshops,  2 September, then there will be 2 day conference 3-4 September, full of new ideas and progressive business trends.

Growing challenges are facing all media, from changing media consumption and the fast transformation of the media business. At the same time, there is a worldwide rise in investment and usage of audio on new platforms, opening up a new golden age of audio. Radiodays Asia is the opportunity to be connected to the future of radio and podcast and make sure your media and business can act accordingly.

This year’s event will be held at the Royale Chulan on 2 – 4 September 2024.

The full programme for the three-day event can be found on the Radio Days Asia website.

The Public Media Alliance will be involved in two sessions at this event:

Cutting through: Reaching audiences with news and information – panel

In a cluttered and fragmented information ecosystem, how can radio networks provide clarity to audiences by providing trusted and accurate news and information? And as the ways in which people access news shifts to digital forms, while among many audiences, news avoidance only grows, how can radio cut through, providing essential news and information reaches audiences? The panel hosted by PMA will be joined by NHK, Thai PBS and Radio Mirchi where we’ll explore how radio stations are devising new programmes, new formats, and new technologies to ensure journalism and news reaches audiences.

Leveraging AI for Podcasting – workshop

This session led by Paul McNally, Develop AI, will look at the tools & techniques which can be employed when producing a podcast and give you the tools and techniques to decide when using AI, what is appropriate for both audiences and platforms i.e. What is a comfortable level of AI use in a podcast? We don’t want podcasts that are 100% AI – so what’s the right balance?
