This panel from the 2016 International Journalism Festival explore the role of journalists in public media and whether they are the key to securing the future of PSM organisations.
Their role is explored within the context of current challenges facing European public service media. From new technologies to poor funding and divergent, transnational audiences, this panel also discusses the ways their organisations are navigating PSM obstacles and their aspirations for the future.
The panel includes Geert-Jan Bogaerts (director digital media VPRO), Wilfried Ruetten (director European Journalism Centre), Wilfried Runde (head of innovation projects Deutsche Welle) and Roberto Suarez (head of Media Intelligence Service EBU).
