A special thanks to all partners, participants and speakers involved in our latest webinar and workshop in Kuala Lumpur.
22 senior journalists and media leaders from across South East Asia took part in the highly successful workshop, which offered training in ethical journalism, building trust with audiences and the opportunity to collaboratively develop a set of relevant media guidelines on hate speech and the coverage of terrorism and violence for the region.
The guidelines will now be designed using the participant’s input and released in due course. In the meantime, the webinar can be accessed via the PMA Knowledge Hub.
The workshop took place between 29-31 March and was led by Dr Zahera Harb (Trustee, Ethical Journalism Network and Senior Lecturer at City, University of London) and Mr. Pipope Panitchpakdi (Deputy Director General, Thai PBS). The webinar was led by Mr. Paul Risley (Media Relations & Training Consultant, UN Agencies).
