The Director-General of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Major Albert Don-Chebe, has asked for the annual TV licence fee to increase from 30 Ghanaian pesewas (10p) to 15 cedis (£4), saying the corporation could not otherwise provide a first class service to the country. Don-Chebe (pictured) proposed the 4,000 per cent increase during an interview with Radio Ghana after a meeting with the corporation’s staff. He said that with added funds GBC would create more channels.
