Mr. Galipeau is currently Chief Revenue Officer for the Torstar Corporation. Previously, he has held senior leadership positions with Yahoo, Syncapse, Rogers Media and Astral Media.

“I have asked Claude to take on this role because of his deep media and digital experience, his business savvy and his keen strategic insight”, said Ms. Tait. “At a time when our biggest competitors are powerful global digital companies, we need to be partnering with other broadcasters and news organizations, as well as culture groups, creators and international players to ensure a place for Canadian culture here and around the world. Claude will ensure we are positioned to do just that.”

“This is a very interesting time for media organizations here in Canada and around the world,” said Mr. Galipeau. “I’m thrilled to be joining CBC/Radio-Canada at a time when public broadcasting matters more than ever, and when the Corporation is working on so many exciting projects and opportunities. Canadians demand a lot of their public broadcaster and I think it has a lot to give, not just in our own country, but around the world.”

Mr. Galipeau will be based in Toronto and will be joining the public broadcaster effective January 7, 2019.

The Public Media Alliance warmly welcome Claude and we look forward to working with him in the future.
